There used to laws banning black marrying whites many years ago. This is a civil rights issue...Prop 8 will be overturned.

Tony Perkins is wrong for Californians. Prop 8 is oppressing the minorities in the great state of California. Civil unions and basic rights are simply not enough. The issue is about basic decency and respect.

All over Los Angeles, from Long Beach to West Hollywood, and in San Francisco, along Market St and Castro, queers are screaming and sending a clear massage tonight -- screw you! We want our rights to be recognized and awarded to us. In San Francisco tonight, thousands of queers took to the street to protest the passing of Prop 8 that banned gay marriage last Tuesday. Helicopters were deployed to the areas and police are stationed strategically. To date, more than 18,000 queers have registered in California and their rights to marry the ones they love were stripped away last Tuesday night when Prop 8 was passed -- 52% voted Yes and 48% voted No on Prop 8. It was tight. But at midnight, it was clear -- Queers have lost. It was unfair. It was intolerant as it was divisive and wrong. People are voicing their outrage on Prop 8.
