Are people really holding on to their money because Obama is going to raise taxes?

And, are people still buying less groceries and cutting down their spending drastically to survive? If this is true, this is bad for the economy. But, who in his or her right mind, (even for those living in this so-called "brie and chardonnay society" of San Francisco) will continue to eat at expensive restaurants or make someone cry these days?
