Because when you come right down to it: what has he actually done? He had 147 days of work in the U.S. Senate before announcing his campaign. He has authored no major legislative bills. He has no major accomplishments to speak of. He is - or I should say was - charismatic and a good speaker; but that’s about it.
The best you could say of him is that he is a black version of John Edwards. Edwards has failed to win the nomination in too tries and to be honest he didn’t really come close in either try. Obama beat a well-funded challenger in Hillary Clinton.
He’s the least accomplished presidential candidate from a major ticket in living memory. No way he does win the Dem nomination if he’s white. Just ask Geraldine Ferraro.
This point is so obvious we wonder that anyone would seriously dispute it.
