Olympics close, Mitcham gets Gold for gay-manity.

Tonight, the Olympics will be closed in Beijing. And the last gold medal for Australia was from the 20-year-old Matthew Mitcham (below) who scored the highest scoring dive in the history of the Olympics with his sixth and final effort to become Australia's first male Olympic gold medallist in diving since Dick Eve in 1924. What a gift to gay-mankind.

The 20-year-old Sydney diver produced the highest scoring dive in the history of the Olympics with his sixth and final effort to become Australia's first male Olympic gold medallist in diving since Dick Eve in 1924.

Mitcham won gold for gay-manity.

For the record, NBC did not mention Mitcham's orientation, nor did they show his family and partner who were in Beijing after he won the gold medal in the 10m platform. But the openly gay Australian is just simply too happy to give a shit.

Unlike Greg Louganis who did not share his orientation until his diving career was over, Mitcham is just living his life as a gay boy. And there is something extra sweet and special about that. For Mitcham, being an Olympian playing himself in a real life story, life will only get better and better.
