Jason Lezak touched the wall with his fingertips, Alain Bernard touched it with a flat hand.

That's Jason Lezak right there for you. Queers all over the world are still celebrating, talking about this three-time Olympian. Lezak, the hunkiest of 'em all, finished the greatest race of his life, producing the most incredibly relay split! The results that heavily favored the Frenchmen, have been smashed -- by the Americans. "Two relays we came shot in Sydney and Athens. I was really tired of losing, I need to bring this back to the U.S." said Lezak, the fastest of 'em all.

Replays of the race on the big-screen showed Alain Bernard touching the wall with a flat hand parallel to the wall. Swimmers are trained to touch with their fingertips and hand perpendicular to the wall. That's what Jason Lezak did. Unfortunately for Bernard, he made a huge mistake. Usually, that tiny little seconds doesn’t mean much in the free relay, but in this – the biggest event of them all – it certainly did.

After his turn, when Garrett, Cullen, and Jason were out there, swimming their butts off and chasing after the Frenchmen, no one in the Cube was more excited than Michael Phelps, who pumped his fists and screamed for the cameras in celebration with his teammates. In what may seem like a curious decision, Phelps was chosen to swim first, as a strong lead means to get the team clean water and chance for separation from the turbulent field that follows. However, the swim order also left him on the deck, helplessly watching as his fate was left in the hands of his teammates.
