John Kerry, Nancy Pelosi, John Edwards, to name three, have many homes, also.

Ambrose Aban:
It is too funny. Democrats have been wringing their hands since yesterday about one seemingly daunting figure in new polls showing a tightening of the presidential race. Actually Obama is slipping off. And he is going on an attack by asking McCain how may home does he own. His brand new ad says: "7 homes"...telling and reminding viewers to not let McCain move in (to his next home) -- the White House.

Phil Spencer:
It is obvious. Obama is having trouble letting the voters especially Hillary supporters to warm up to him. There are a few reasons for this. As an observer, I see Obama is being immature about the "$5 million" joke, and about the definition of "rich". We are not stupid and we know that it was a joke. Do you think McCain is that stupid to mention $5 million on purpose. That is one reason voters are not too keen to warm up to Obama because he is not genuine enough.

Ambrose Aban:
Hillary's 20m primary-season supporters are not too excited either. According to a poll today, 27% of Hillary's supporters have not decided, and more than 20% of them will vote for McCain. That's bad news for Obama. Some are interpreting this as evidence that Obama has a lingering problem with the Democratic base, and even speculating that he consequently might shock the world and pick Clinton as his running mate.

Phil Spencer:
Lost in this analysis, though, is a crucial fact: many of Clinton's primary-season supporters are not necessarily loyal Democratic presidential election voters.

Ambrose Aban:
Indeed, many of the states and counties where Clinton racked up her biggest numbers in the primaries are places where voters remain Democrats in name only (think Kentucky). Such voters may have turned out to participate in an exciting 2008 Democratic primary, but they have not voted for Democrats in recent presidential elections, and can hardly be considered part of the Democratic base. As one of my guest bloggers said today to Obama, quoting Miranda Priestly of Devil Wears Prada, the character played powerfully by Meryl Streep, "you are an idiot if you don't hire her"
