Don't forget queers who have died for us...as we celebrate Pride

Remember people like Lawrence King, Mathew Sheppard, and the others who have been killed (for being gay). When you're swamped by crowds at a pride festival and surrounded by retail booths and food stands and hot fresh cocks, (forget Khadijah Farmer, a "man" who uses women's toilette to check out women) it can all start to feel like a rainbow-clad swap meet. But Pride festivals are simply a great day to meet, have fun and show solidarity. As we celebrate our diversity, we have a unique chance to create a world where we're temporarily in the majority. It only lasts for a few days, but many visitors end up forging memories and friendships that can last a lifetime. This is my last week in NYC. I am moving back to the beautiful city of San Francisco, where my heart is. Have a great summer and enjoy your Pride.
