Here's another disturbing news for West Village-loving queers. One of our favorite cafes in Manhattan will be gone for good. I've been there three times. I've heard Madonna, Ethan Hawke, Nicole Kdiman, Dan Futterman, Peneloppe Cruz, the crazy Olsen twins, Tom Cruise, Tom Brady, Nick Lachey, Cameron Matheson, Mariah Carey, Anderson Cooper, Kiefer Sutherland, several Miss Universe, Alicia Keys, Richard Gere, Cindy Crawford love to go there and often spotted having their meals there. Even Heath Ledger and John Kennedy Jr used to go there for their favorite salads. Everyone loves Cafe Florent.
Florent, the legendary meatpacking district bistro/diner, gets an eulogy from Frank Bruni in the New York Times. It's an institution. I'll be sad to see it go. If you happen to be in Manhattan before June 29, pay a visit.
