Among the celebrities who showed up and addressed the crowd was actress Sara Ramerez (below) of Grey's Anatomy. Also present was hunky actor, Dave Annable, who played the adorable Justin Walkers in Brothers & Sisters. Seen at the walk were Wilson Cruz, Kenneth Cole, and Miss Universe 2008 among others.
Chief Executive Officer of GMHC, Dr. Marjorie J. Hill, PhD, and Founder and Producer of AIDS Walk New York, Craig R. Miller, sponsors Bristol-Myers Squibb, Delta Air Lines, Deutsche Bank, GAP, Inc., Lehman Brothers, Pfizer and PricewaterhouseCoopers
also walked today. Each of the representative of the above companies spoke before the kick-off this morning at Sheep Meadows in Central Parl. We couldn't have asked for better weather! The sun was out and shining. It was toasty and bright. A few thousands showed up for sure. There was a sea of people so it had to be more than 10,000 people.
Queergam: AIDS Walk New York 2008 is a powerful and inspiring day in Central Park and on the streets of New York City. We walked to remember those we have lost, we walked to help our friends, family and fellow New Yorkers who are affected by HIV/AIDS, and we all walked to show our never-ending determination to end AIDS.
