UAFA (the Uniting American Families Act, a tiny piece of legislation that would finally allow gay Americans to sponsor their partners for immigration) has been reintroduced to the 111th Congress on February 12. While I'm fully aware that 'that other thing' is more important in the grand scheme of things, I find it amazing that it takes only a couple of days for government to decide how to spend billions of Dollarson a stimulus package, the efficiency of which is highly debatable, while a simple law that would help out roughly 40,000 Americans and their partners has been in limbo for nearly a decade.
Let's eat!
This month we cook a lot of dishes from Singapore and Malaysia. Singapore and Kuala Lumpur are a melting pot bubbling over with tourists, inhabitants and expatriates from all parts of the world, and these people naturally have diverse eating habits. Through the ages, the Chinese, Malay, Indians and the foreigners (westerners) have cast their influence on Singapore's food recipes and there is no doubt that Singapore is a food lovers' paradise. We are bringing the fantastic Singapore/Malay dishes to you and our friends who will be couchsurfing with us...Cheers! Tiger & Marlon
